A Tiny Tidy Tip ~ Are You Feeling Like A Slave?

A slave to your home, your family, your kids, your stuff?

Time to build a Super Support Squad! [imagine super hero music playing while you read this]

These are just a few simple ideas, but you can totally run with the concepts.

Build your own community of mums and dads to provide social and practical support.

At a loss on a rainy day? Done all the fun indoor things and your little angels are tearing the place apart? Get together for a crazy play date, take turns to host or organise. Tire the little darlings out so they fall asleep at a super early bedtime so you can pour a wine and watch Netflix with your sweetie. You be the organiser, but share the load.

Pay people to do the things you don’t want to do.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO ALL THE THINGS! If no one in your household likes to mow the lawn, hire someone. Pay a local teen to do your laundry, prep for dinner or help wrangle the kids to bed. Get your house decluttered and organised (it makes such a huge difference!). Find the money, you know you’ve done it before for things that are important to you. You can make it happen!

Get your family onside.

Built in baby sitters anyone? Take full advantage of adoring family so you can have a bit of free time, by yourself or with your sweetie, to do the things you really WANT to do. If they’re not really suitable baby sitters, find someone who is. You need grown up time. Make. It. Happen.

With a Super Support Squad it’s important to remember the key is communication and agreement. Be clear what you will do for each other in return for this lifestyle and parenting support. Stay in touch and check regularly that everyone is happy with the arrangement.

These are precious people who are helping you stay sane but they must also respect and value you and your time.

Liz.

PS. Get in the groove… Play your fav super hero movie music while you organise this stuff! Mine is Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix, what’s yours?
